Orgreave Auditions
Orgreave is a drama set in the mid 1980s, during the year long miners strike. It follows the mining community of Gracethorpe as they navigate the privations of the strike and the police who were drafted in to control the picketing.
It is a very physical play with scenes of violent riot.
There are speaking and non speaking roles for up to 16 men and 16 women.
For those who would be interested in being part of the play but who are unable to make the November 25th to 28th dates, there are three male roles that will be prerecorded.
Yorkshire accents will be used. We will employ an accent coach but no harm in getting on YouTube and practicing now! A few episodes of Last of the Summer Wine should do it.
There will be a read through at the Playhouse on July 1st at 7.30 with the bar open from 7pm.
Auditions will take place on July 9th from 7pm to 10pm and July 11th from 2pm to 5pm at the Playhouse. You can prebook a time slot in which to audition here or just come along on the day.
If you have your eye on a particular role then it’s always worth familiarising yourself with the audition piece but please don’t feel that you need to learn it.

A list of characters and their approximate age and role size is in the file "Orgreave characters for Audition" in there as is the audition form. Please fill it in to the best of your ability and bring it with you to your audition. If you cannot print your form there will be spare copies at the auditions.
Audition pieces are also all included in the same zip file. Smaller roles and non speaking roles do not have their own audition piece. Please choose any of the other roles to read but specify the role you would like to audition for on your form and on the day.

The Hollow Auditions
Audition dates are Thursday 9th July 7:00pm to 10:00pm and Monday 13th July 7:00pm to 10:00pm.

Due to most auditions slots being booked, we have no capacity for walk-ins but will be at the theatre on Saturday 18th between 10am and 12 noon if you would like to audition.
